The last of the guided tours of the New Cemetery within the spring cycle of the thematic walks through this cultural heritage site of great importance for the Republic of Serbia was organized on June 4, 2017. This thematic walk entitled „Through the Alleys of the New Cemetery” comprised the tour of the main alleys, including major sculptural works and final resting places of significant individuals. Special attention was paid to the complexes of Arcades, Alley of the Greats, Alley of Meritorious Citizens, Alley of the Fallen Patriots, in addition to architectural features and history of the St. Nicolas Church, Burial Chapel of Field Marshal Radomir Putnik, Serbian Ossuary of Belgrade Defenders (1914-1918), Russian Ossuary, Chapel devoted to Iverska Virgin & etc. Due to the interest of the visitors, the walk was extended to the final resting places of certain individuals buried outside of the mentioned complexes. The tour was carried out in the course of the Week of Discovering European Cemeteries (WDEC) organized by the Association of Significant Cemeteries of Europe, in the period between May 29 and June 4. 2017.
