Following the trail of significant Serbian women buried at the New Cemetery of Belgrade

On Thursday, February 9, 2017, Violeta Obrenovic, PhD –  art historian with the PUC „Funeral Services “, gave a lecture entitled „Following the trail of significant Serbian women buried at the New Cemetery of Belgrade”, at the invitation of the Tourist Guides Association of Serbia.

The lecture comprised a chronicle regarding the status of women in Serbia from the beginning of 19th century,

Commemoration of 98 – years anniversary from liberation of Belgrade in WWI

98 – years anniversary from liberation of Belgrade in WW1 was commemorated on November 1, 2016 by laying wreaths to the Serbian Ossuary of Belgrade Defenders (1914-1918), at the New Cemetery of Belgrade. The wreaths were laid by the City Manager Goran Vesić, representatives of the Alliance Association of Descendants of Serbian Warriors 1912 – 1920 and Association of Veterans for Fostering Traditions of Serbian Liberation War until 1918.

Commemoration of 101 – years anniversary from the commencement of Belgrade defense during the WWI

101-years anniversary form the commencement of Belgrade defense during the WWI was commemorated in Belgrade on October 7, 2016. This significant date was commemorated by laying wreaths at the Serbian Ossuary of Belgrade Defenders (1915) and final resting place of the Colonel Dragutin Gavrilović at the New Cemetery of Belgrade. The first Open History Class of the Economy, Law and Administration High School students took place at the New Cemetery in Belgrade, on Monday, October 13, 2014.
