Entering Cemeteries by motor vehicles is forbidden
Public Utility Company “Funeral Services” appeals to the general public to use public transportation instead of private vehicles on the occasion of the Memorial Saturday, February 22, 2020. On Saturday, February 22, 2020, entering cemeteries by motor vehicles will not be allowed for all cemeteries in the period from 07:00 to 15:00 hrs. The cemetery gates for entering by motor vehicles will be opened again from 15:00 to 18:00 hrs.
Entering by motor vehicles will not be permitted at all, for the following cemeteries: New Cemetery, Zemun and Topčider – on the occasion of the Memorial Saturday (Februray 22, 2020).
On the following day, i.e. Sunday, February 23, the cemetery gates for entering by the motor vehicles will be opened from 07:00 to 18:00 hrs, with the exception of the following cemeteries: New Cemetery, Zemun and Topčider.
For less mobile burial sites visitors, as well as the senior citizens, three comfortable air-conditioned mini-vans are secured for the purpose of visitors’ transportation (free – of – charge) at the largest urban cemeteries: Lešće, Orlovača, Nova Bežanija. Transporation will also be provided at Zbeg cemetery, as necessary. Organized transportation will be carried out in the period between 07:00 to 15:00 hrs, along the route from the entrance gate to the furthest plots.
In addition to the specialized mini-vans, the visitors to the cemeteries on the occasion of the Memorial Saturday will have at their disposal a number of Public Utility Company “Funeral Services” service vehicles, recognizable by the company logo and characteristic crimson color.
